Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
Only two more nights left of work before vacation starts! Yes, I'm a little too excited.
Warm weather here we come!

Us at the Petersen's Christmas Party.

David and I celebrated our Christmas on Sunday (since we don't have time alone until we leave)
My lovely husband surprised me with some awesome jeans, new north face, and cute shoes!
Love him.

Dear Santa, I would like... time.

9 days WHAT? Honestly WHERE did December go? I cannot believe how fast this month has just flown by and it makes me a little on the sad side. Life has been go-go-go these last couple weeks that I have decided that what I really want, wait, more like NEED is a pause button, or at least a slow down button. Pretty please Santa? I swear have been a good girl this year.

David and I have been busy the last few weeks with work, dreaming up big plans for the future (more on that at a later date), getting the last of our christmas shopping done (so close), trying to keep the house somewhat clean (how DOES such a small space get soooo dirty so fast? i'm confused), seeing friends and family, and teaching Harlow what is okay to play with and what is definitely a NO! (like the christmas tree (climbing it is NOT okay), dried wedding flowers, poinsettia (go ahead, eat the poisonous thing you dumb cat), lit candles, tree ornaments... and the list could go on and on). I swear she is the spawn of satan.

A couple weekends ago David and I headed out after church in search of THE perfect, first Christmas tree. We had been invited over to friends of ours for a day full of good food, laughs, hot tubbing, wreath making, and Christmas tree cutting. After much debate David and I settled on a beautiful noble (see picture below) and I had the joy of yelling "TIMBER" as hubby cut it down. I had my first attempt at making a wreath, which I must add was so freaking fun. I don't think it turned out too bad either.

Christmas is fast approaching which means our 7 day cruise to the Mexican Rivera is coming up too! Hallelujah! It could not come at a better time. Definitely excited for a break from work and even more excited to spend time relaxing on my first cruise! I'll let you know how I like it but for some odd reason I have a feeling that I will be already planning for my next one before I'm done with the first. ;)

Hope that the holidays are treating you well!
Heading out to find our trees!
It was a little bright!

A few pictures of our home all decorated for Christmas!

Family pic in front of the tree. Harlow is all dressed up like Satan Claus! (okay seriously, Harlow looks possessed right?)
Pretty tree. (and yes, all of our gifts will have bite/claw marks in them)
Yeah, we don't have a fireplace yet. This will have to do.
H-cakes stocking.
Wreath I made.
For your enjoyment here are a few random pictures I found on the camera.

Us not enjoying the opening bands, but we did enjoy blind pilot!

J crew Wishlist

Christmas is coming!!!! Yesterday I met up with my niece/nephew and sister at the mall to do some serious shopping. We were able to score ourselves some awesome deals on gifts and I ended up spending majority of the day at the mall (so tiring). I'm so excited for Christmas to get here!

So speaking of gifts... here is a few things that are currently on my J crew wishlist! Can we say feminine ruffles!?!

Love this simple sweater paired with dark jeans!
Could always use a new purse!
Love this tank! On sale even!
Cold weather calls for a warm coat! I like it cause it isn't a plain peacoat.
This dress is heavenly.
Ahhh! I need this shirt to go with my yellow belt!

This sweater makes me want a fire, hot apple cider, and a good book.
I love this twist dress, adorable (and warm) when paired with black tights and shoes.
Love the coral color!

City Getaway

I know, I know. I have been completely absent for weeks! Life is crazy to say the least. Here's to catching up!

A couple weekends ago David and I headed to the city to relax and spoil ourselves after all the hard work we had been putting into our jobs. It was so nice to be able to completely put our focus in spending time together and getting to know Portland better.

FYI pictures of our own are going to be lacking due to the fact that David was in charge of the camera and conveniently left it sitting on our bed at home even after having asked me if we needed it, to which I had replied "OF COURSE". Oh well, I still love him.

For the first night we stayed downtown in the historic Mark Spencer Hotel. Definitely an experience...not quite my version of a luxurious, vacation hotel but it worked. David was a fan.

Friday night David treated me to a delish dinner up at Portland City Grill. The view and company was quite amazing if I do say so.

Just had to do a little shopping at Pioneer Place... Jcrew what?

For the second night we stayed at Hotel Lucia. Loved it, highly recommend.

The weekend was full of some good eats:
Voo Doo Donuts
Buffalo Wild Wings (had to take in the UO vs. USC game)
Huber's (Portland's oldest restaurant)
We also were able to ride the MAX, hit up a matinee, the Saturday Market, and McDonald's to grab some GC to hand out to some homeless dudes.

All in all it was a great relaxing weekend in the city with my love.

Encouragement for today!

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Romans 12:2

On being torn.

As much as I would love to sit down and write a thoughtful post for some reason I just cannot make myself do it. So for now I'll bore you with random quotes, verses, pics, and thoughts until I figure myself out.
I love my husband (even though he is leaving me to go hunting all weekend).

On another note, today is my Monday. I have thoroughly enjoyed some time off of work at the hospital but tonight starts my 7 day work week. So adios till next Thursday! Please pray for my sanity and David's safety!
